Driving Local Traffic To My Website

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
How do I drive LOCAL traffic to my website? I have a spa & salon review website and I need to be able to tell the local spas and salons that choose to place their salon or spa listing with me that the site is indeed visited by people in the neighborhood, not folks thousands of miles away. Right now I get about 3,000 visitors a month, but they are from everyone on the web.

A couple of things come to mind for this problem:
    1. Get away from being an anonymous user site - provide perks for having the person register
    2. Start an email newsletter that drives people back to your site, especially the one that identify themselves at the registration process as local to your area.

In both of the above options, you can now segment your audience and target them.

We use email newsletters a lot for our clients. Each newsletter will have anywhere from 3 to 6 article teasers (1 to 2 paragraphs) with links back to the site for the full article. On the landing page, we obviously exploit the person's interest and offer them deals or other call to actions.

The internet is for local companies as well as for global firms. Once I came across a local businessman who asked me how he can benefit from the web. After explaining I found myself stammering and I decided to get more information on this. I stumbled on one site which was quite helpful on getting a working online strategy and website that makes sense for a local business.

This site that has case studies and even downloads on how a local business can succeed on the net.https://localbiz.sitesell.com/online-profits.html
